Growth & Grace LLC
Grief is a natural, deeply personal response to losing someone or something central to your life. While society often associates grief exclusively with the death of a loved one, it can also be triggered by other significant life transitions, such as a divorce, the end of a career, a medical diagnosis, or a major relocation.
Grief & Loss Counseling
Grief impacts the entire self, manifesting through emotional, physical, and mental responses:
- Emotional: Waves of intense sadness, anger, guilt, profound loneliness, anxiety, or even moments of emotional numbness and relief
- Physical: Chronic fatigue, a hollow feeling in the stomach, chest tightness, sleep disturbances, changes in appetite, or a weakened immune system
- Cognitive: Difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, confusion, or constantly replaying events leading up to the loss
- Behavioral: Social withdrawal, crying spells, avoiding reminders of the loss, or conversely, clinging tightly to objects associated with what was lost
Grief therapy does not aim to help you “forget” or “get over” your loss. Instead, it provides a safe, non-judgmental space to process your emotions and integrate the loss into your ongoing life story.
